Get alerts and updates

Being informed about extreme weather and local emergencies gives you more time to prepare and respond. This will help to reduce the impact on you, your family, and your property.
UK Government Emergency Alerts
Emergency Alerts is a UK Government service. It can be used to warn you if there's danger to life nearby. Alerts can be sent by the Government, your local council, and other public organisations like the Police.
In an emergency, mobile phone masts in the surrounding area will broadcast an alert. Every compatible mobile phone or tablet in range of a mast will receive the alert.
Emergency alerts are free. You do not need to sign up for them or download an app.

Radio stations
During an emergency, radio stations will broadcast important warnings and advice. This includes BBC Radio Norfolk, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4.
Know how to tune into local radio stations, and write their frequencies down in your household emergency plan and community emergency plan.
